LEADERSHIP

1It depends on the Lord’s strength.(Joshua:6-9)
A leader ought to be strong and courageous in order to be able to accomplish that which the Lord has instructed him to do.
It is also important to note that for one to walk in effective leadership, (s) he ought to know what the Lord has assigned him to do with the group of people that (s) he is to lead. This implies that one has no need seeking what he can offer or what the people (s)he leads need but rather ought to have heard from the Lord and in obedience do exactly what has been instructed surely (s)he will address the needs of the people to whom God has assigned him or her too..
In this case Joshua was to observe and do that which the Lord has instructed Moses to do. This simply means the vision as to where Joshua was to take the people was merely the means of applying what God had instructed Moses concerning his people and not to seek to advance that which (s)he wants even if it could add value.
The success of Joshua’s leadership was in observing what the Lord had said. By obeying what the Lord had instructed him to do through his servant Moses he was going to be successful in everything that he was going to be doing. From this we can learn that by clearing articulating the call of God upon your life there will be provisions to sustain it.
2A leader ought to be studious so as to be knowledgeable.
3A leader ought to meditate on the word of God day and night.
To meditate (Hagar) is to mutter under a low voice. This simply means a leader ought to always be speaking/thinking the word of God. Obedience is made easier when you clearly know that which you ought to do hence the need to be full of the word. The reason you ought to meditate on the word of God is so that it can get into your Spirit man. It is also important to note that the fact that the word is in you doesn’t mean that you will automatically obey it NO; you ought to purposefully do it. Success is a product of applied knowledge or revelation and not how much you know per se.
4A leader ought not to be fearful or discouraged of the situations around just because he knows the Lord is with him or her wherever (s)he goes. In the first place the assignment is from God hence surely it will come to pass if and only if the instruction or mandate is correctly executed.

5The leader ought to use the wisdom from God. Wisdom simply defined is the effective and efficient application of the word of God (knowledge) (2 Chr 1:10, Jer 3:1൫.).
· The leader is to execute his or her duties with all wisdom that means the knowledge ought to be correctly applied to all situations at hand.
· It is important to note that it is the leader’s responsibility to use the wisdom that means the fact that things are not handled right does not mean God had not given the solution. Remember Christ is our wisdom and we have the mind of Christ. That which the Lord demands you to produce he has provided (He only requires from you that which he has entrusted you with).
6The Leader ought to execute justice (Micah 3:1-5).
· The Leader ought to faithfully commit only to that which the Lord has commissioned him to do.
· The leader ought not to show favoritisms but should rather reward according to performance.

The leader ought to lead an exemplary life (1Timothy 4:12,1Peter 5:3).
· The leader ought to teach, that is to instruct those to whom he is assigned.
· The leader ought to live what (s)he teaches(James 1:22).The leader ought not to just hear the word of God and pass it own to the audience, should implement it first.

  1. One of the greatest question one will never ask is, what is a leader and what is leadership? This is where all the earthly problems lies. more will follow. If one can grasp the principle of leadership, they will begin to experience success without limits/ limitation.

  2. Everyone is a leader in their own right and their sphere of influence is the one that determines what kind of leadership style they are to exhibit. It is one's responsibility to know what they are to do,how and when all that is part of leadership. We ought to know the difference between mentoring and leadership?.One is the subset of the other hence there are many facets to leadership
